  • About JSUS: Jugantar Samaj Unnayan Sangstha (JSUS) is a promising flourishing woman-led NGO, significant contributions to advancing gender equality and women`s empowerment at Chattogram Division, Bangladesh. JSUS efforts have led to improved access to education, healthcare, economic opportunities, and legal protection for women and girls. JSUS plays a vital role in supporting women`s leadership and amplifying women`s voices in decision-making processes, both within their communities and at broader societal levels.
  • Cox`s Bazar in Bangladesh was hosting a significant population of Rohingya refugees who had fled violence and persecution in Myanmar since 25th August,2017. The Rohingya refugee crisis is one of the largest and most protracted refugee situations globally. The situation in Cox`s Bazar is complex, and the needs of Rohingya refugees are multifaceted. The education program was just one aspect of the broader humanitarian response aimed at addressing the immediate and long-term needs of the Rohingya population. As part of its efforts, JSUS has been actively involved in the Rohingya Refugee Response Program in Cox`s Bazar, addressing the needs of Rohingya refugees who have fled violence and persecution in Myanmar. JSUS has been closely working with BRAC Pool fund supported by Global Affairs of Canada (GAC) for ensuring access to education for the most vulnerable Refugee Communities.

Job Responsibilities

  • Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E):
  • Clearly define the objectives and goals of the project.
  • Develop specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound (SMART) indicators to track progress and outcomes.
  • Develop and implement M&E frameworks, tools, and systems to track the progress and impact of education projects.
  • Regularly visit project sites to conduct field-level monitoring, verify data, and ensure compliance with project objectives.
  • Data Collection and Analysis:
  • Collect quantitative and qualitative data related to education projects, ensuring accuracy and reliability.
  • Analyze data to identify trends, challenges, and successes, and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Collect baseline data before the program or project begins to establish a starting point for evaluation.
  • Research and Learning:
  • Design and conduct research studies, assessments, and surveys to inform programmatic decisions and improve project effectiveness.
  • Stay updated with educational research and best practices to contribute to project design and improvements.
  • Capacity Building:
  • Train project staff and field teams on M&E methodologies, data collection techniques, and reporting standards.
  • Facilitate workshops to enhance the understanding of research concepts and their application.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
  • Prepare timely and comprehensive M&E reports, showcasing project progress, outcomes, and lessons learned.
  • Maintain a database of collected data, reports, and research findings for reference and accountability.
  • Collaboration and Networking:
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, including government agencies, educational institutions, and communities, to strengthen project outcomes.
  • Participate in knowledge-sharing platforms and engage in relevant networks to exchange experiences and best practices.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Ensure the quality and integrity of data collected and reported for accurate project assessment.
  • Support the project team in adjusting interventions based on M&E findings.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Statistics, Education, Social Sciences, Development Studies, or a related field.
  • Skills Required: Advance Computer Skills, Kobo applications, SPSS

Experience Requirements

  • At least 5 year(s)
  • The applicants should have experience in the following area(s):
    Data Analysis, Data management, Education in Emergency, Household and market survey, Statistical Data Analysis
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):
    NGO

Additional Requirements

  • Age 25 to 40 years
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in monitoring and evaluation, research, or a related role within the education sector.
  • Familiarity with M&E tools, methodologies, and data analysis techniques.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret complex data.
  • Proficiency in using data analysis software and tools.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and training skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Fluency in English and local languages for effective communication.
