Job Responsibilities
Under the overall supervision of the Head of Sub-office and direct supervision of the Public Health Response Officer in the UN AGENCY Cox’s Bazar emergency sub-office, the incumbent will be required to carry out the following responsibilities:
- Assess IPC capacities and practices in Health Care Facilities, Field Hospitals and advise on standard IPC practices
- Assess training needs, develop training plans and conduct IPC training for Health Care Workers in Camp settings
- Provide supportive supervision and hands-on training to strengthen the IPC measures in the Health facilities
- Document IPC-related best practices/lessons learned in the Rohingya camp settings
- Support IM Team to develop an online IPC Scorecard dashboard
- Provide need-based Technical support to District Sadar Hospital
- Participate in EPI (IPC) Technical Working Group regularly and provide updates to Health Sector partners periodically
- Promote cross-cutting engagement with other thematic areas and with end-user groups.
- Develop IEC on IPC for the service providers and service seekers from TB van and health facilities
- Coordinate with RCCE technical focal point to update/develop public health messages focused on IPC for key biological hazards identified by Epi Working Group, Cox’s Bazar.
- Review and update the approved IPC messages on COVID-19 and tailor it for all other respiratory diseases/medical conditions aligning to the case definition and surveillance harnessed by IEDCR for Influenza Like Illness (ILI) and Severe Acute Respiratory Illness (SARI)
- Strengthen supportive supervision of TB vans on IPC practices with the existing supportive supervision checklist
- Provide supportive supervision of the WASH-FIT supported health facilities by UN AGENCY Emergency Sub Office for Cox’s Bazar
- Closely coordinate with Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) + Health Care Waste Management pillar in the following areas:
- to assess the compliance on IPC practices in the health facilities
- provide supportive supervision of the WASH-FIT supported health facilities by UN AGENCY Emergency Sub Office for Cox’s Bazar
- facilitate capacity building on WASH FIT
