Cox’s Bazar Polytechnic Institute is the largest technical educational institution in southernmost Bangladesh. The institute began its journey in 2004 with the introduction of Computer Technology. Subsequently, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning (RAC) Technology was introduced in 2005, Civil and Food Technology in 2006, Tourism and Hospitality Management in 2016, and Electrical Technology in 2021. At present, a total of 600 students are admitted annually across these five technologies.
Established on 2 acres of land, the institute features a vast infrastructure that includes one administrative building, two academic buildings, and two workshop buildings. Equipped with state-of-the-art machinery and tools, the institute offers quality technical and vocational education and training. Accommodation facilities are available for staff. The campus also houses a spacious library enriched with textbooks and various other reference materials, a mosque, and a flower garden, all of which contribute to the development of skilled and thoughtful human resources while enhancing the beauty and reputation of the institute.
The current Government of Bangladesh has placed special emphasis on polytechnic education as a means of producing skilled human resources through technical and vocational education and training, alongside science and technology studies. In line with this vision, Cox’s Bazar Polytechnic Institute continues to play a leading role in the socio-economic development of the country by producing skilled manpower through diploma engineering graduates and short-term trade courses.
